Estorick Gallery, London<br>9 September-13 December 1998I was cautious about the Eames show at the Design Museum – it seemed to have the ‘toys for boys’ potential that can plague this institution. But the show, a travelling exhibition organised by the Library of Congress and Vitra Design Museum, was excellent, though surprisingly short on furniture. The show is a timely reminder of what design can offer life when it is approached with openess and enthusiasm without crippling strictures of irony…
