With their multiple pictures, blocks of angled type and fluorescent Pantone colours, the covers of the big-circulation weekly magazines might not appear in the D&AD annual. But they are as intensely designed and crafted as any yellow-pencil winner.
Next Wednesday 16 December art director Andy Cowles, the award-winning IPC editorial development director, will reveal the secrets of making covers that sell in his EDO lecture at Pentagram.
